Before WWE Sunday Night's Main Event went on the air, I made my predictions. Now that the show is over, it is time for the part every wrestling fan loves or hates depending on the scoreboard: checking the receipts.

My predictions were Randy Orton over Cody Rhodes, Oba Femi over Bron Breakker, Lil Yachty surviving Baron Corbin with help connected to Trick Williams, and Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley winning the six-woman tag team match.

So, how did I do?

Three out of four official match results went my way. But anyone who watched the show knows that the final score doesn't tell the entire story.

 Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes

My Prediction: Randy Orton
Winner: Randy Orton
Prediction: ✅ CORRECT

I picked Randy Orton, and the Viper delivered.

Cody Rhodes had opportunities to put Orton away. He hit multiple Cross Rhodes and had Orton in serious trouble. However, Cody hesitated when he had the opportunity to deliver the punt.

That hesitation cost him.

Orton went where Cody wouldn't. He delivered a low blow that also resulted in the referee going down before hitting the RKO and stealing the victory. CBS Sports gave the match a B.

This is exactly why Randy Orton remains one of the most dangerous wrestlers in WWE. You don't have to like how he wins. You just have to understand that when Orton sees an opening, he takes it.

Cody had the match.

Orton had the killer instinct.

Prediction Record: 1-0

💥 Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker

My Prediction: Oba Femi
Winner: Oba Femi by disqualification
Prediction: ✅ TECHNICALLY CORRECT

Put the checkmark next to Oba Femi, but somebody better put an asterisk beside it.

This match was supposed to help answer one enormous question: Who is the future of WWE?

Instead, WWE gave us chaos.

Austin Theory got involved. Logan Paul appeared. Maxxine Dupri handed Bron Breakker brass knuckles. Then came the biggest surprise of the match when Bronson Reed returned and attacked Femi with a chair.

Reed hit Femi with a Tsunami and reunited with Breakker as The Vision completely destroyed Oba. The interference resulted in Femi officially defeating Breakker by disqualification. CBS Sports graded the match a B.

So yes, my Oba Femi prediction was correct.

But did Oba Femi really "win?"

On paper, absolutely.

Looking at the final image of the match? Not even close.

Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed were standing while Oba Femi was being checked on by WWE officials.

More importantly, WWE protected both men. Femi didn't pin Breakker, and Breakker didn't pin Femi.

That tells me this story isn't finished.

Prediction Record: 2-0

🎤 Lil Yachty vs. Baron Corbin

My Prediction: Lil Yachty survives with Trick Williams involved
Winner: Lil Yachty by surviving five minutes
Prediction: ✅ CORRECT

I had Lil Yachty getting through this match, and that is exactly what happened.

The stipulation was simple: survive Baron Corbin for five minutes and Trick Williams would receive a United States Championship match.

Yachty didn't have to outwrestle Corbin.

He didn't have to pin him.

He just had to survive.

Corbin dominated much of the encounter, but his biggest opponent became the clock. Instead of simply finishing Yachty when he had opportunities, Corbin kept inflicting punishment. That decision came back to haunt him.

Yachty survived the five minutes.

CBS Sports gave the segment a C-, but storyline-wise, it accomplished exactly what WWE needed.

And then came the payoff.

🏆 Trick Williams Becomes United States Champion

Lil Yachty surviving meant Trick Williams immediately received his opportunity against Baron Corbin.

And Trick took advantage.

Corbin's obsession with Yachty continued to distract him during the championship match. Yachty eventually returned and prevented Corbin from using the championship belt. Corbin still managed to hit Trick with the title, but Williams kicked out.

Then came the finish.

Williams escaped the End of Days and connected with the Trick Shot.

1...2...3.

Trick Williams became United States Champion again. CBS Sports graded the championship match a C.

This makes my Yachty prediction even sweeter because the entire point of Yachty surviving was creating the opportunity for Trick Williams.

Corbin could have taken care of business.

Instead, he played with his food and lost his championship because of it.

Prediction Record: 3-0

👑 Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley vs. Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab

My Prediction: Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley
Winners: Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab
Prediction: ❌ WRONG

There goes the perfect night.

I picked Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley, but WWE went in the opposite direction.

The interesting part was how they lost.

Flair was preparing to apply the Figure Eight when Paxley attempted to get involved. Michin knocked Paxley into Flair, creating the opening Jade Cargill needed.

Jade hit Jaded on Charlotte and got the pin.

CBS Sports gave the match a B-, noting some clunky moments but acknowledging that the match accomplished what it needed from a storyline perspective.

I missed this prediction, but I am interested in what WWE does with the finish.

Was this simply a mistake by Tatum Paxley?

Or are we watching the beginning of another problem involving Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Paxley?

Either way, Jade Cargill pinning Charlotte Flair is significant. WWE could have protected Charlotte by having somebody else take the fall. They didn't.

Jade pinned Charlotte.

That matters.

Final Prediction Record: 3-1

I'll take it.

I went 3-1 on my official predictions for WWE Sunday Night's Main Event:

✅ Randy Orton over Cody Rhodes
✅ Oba Femi over Bron Breakker
✅ Lil Yachty survives Baron Corbin
❌ Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley

But the biggest story coming out of Sunday Night's Main Event might not be any individual victory.

It's what WWE set up next.

Randy Orton proved he is still willing to cross lines Cody Rhodes won't. Oba Femi technically defeated Bron Breakker, but The Vision left him destroyed. Bronson Reed is back. Trick Williams has regained the United States Championship. And Jade Cargill just pinned Charlotte Flair.

Most importantly, WWE didn't give us a definitive answer to Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker.

I don't think that was an accident.

If these two really are fighting over who represents the future of WWE, then a disqualification was never going to settle the argument.

Run it back.

No Austin Theory.
No Logan Paul.
No Bronson Reed.
No brass knuckles.
No excuses.

Bron Breakker vs. Oba Femi II.

Then we can really find out who the future of WWE is.

Until then, I'm walking away from Sunday Night's Main Event at 3-1.

Not perfect.

But I'll take the win.
