WWE Backlash 2026: New Stars Rise While The Bloodline Begins to Crack

WWE Backlash 2026 delivered a night that felt less like a premium live event and more like a warning siren for WWE's future. New stars rose, rivalries deepened, and several storylines now feel ready to explode heading into the summer.
World Heavyweight Championship
Roman Reigns defeated Jacob Fatu to retain the World Heavyweight Championship in a brutal main event. Even in defeat, Fatu looked like an absolute monster. After the match, he snapped and assaulted the Tribal Chief, leaving fans questioning the future of the Bloodline.
The biggest mystery is the whereabouts of The Usos. Why did they not come to aid Reigns? Their absence felt intentional, and it adds another layer to an already fractured family story. The Reigns and Fatu rivalry is clearly far from over. This could lead to another Bloodline Civil War, or perhaps Fatu becomes a lone force of chaos tearing through the entire family tree branch by branch.
Then there is Solo Sikoa and his crew attempting to bring Royce Keys into the family orbit. The Bloodline story now feels like a volcano with several cracks forming at once. Nobody fully knows where the lava is headed next. 🌋
Iyo Sky vs. Asuka
Iyo Sky defeated Asuka in what many considered the match of the night. The emotion after the match stood out just as much as the action itself. It genuinely felt like it could have been Asuka's farewell match, especially with the respectful post-match moment between both competitors.
At the same time, WWE often plants seeds in emotional moments. Could this become the beginning of a future alliance or even a dominant tag team pairing? Either possibility would immediately shake up the women's division.
United States Championship
Trick Williams defeated Sami Zayn and continues to look like a star ready for a long championship reign. Right now, there does not appear to be a clear challenger capable of stepping up to Williams.
Hopefully Carmelo Hayes returns soon because many fans still feel he was cheated out of the championship. A future Hayes vs. Williams rematch could instantly reignite the division and bring unfinished business back into focus.
Bron Breakker vs. Seth Rollins
Bron Breakker defeated Seth Rollins in a match where distractions once again crushed the momentum of the babyface. Even with the outside chaos, Breakker looked dominant from start to finish. His intensity feels like a runaway freight train with shoulder pads.
If another match is scheduled, Rollins cannot afford to go in alone. He will need backup. A possible alliance with The Street Profits could create a much more balanced fight and potentially open the door for a larger faction war moving forward.
Overall, WWE Backlash 2026 felt like a bridge between eras. Roman Reigns may still hold the championship, but Jacob Fatu, Bron Breakker, and Trick Williams walked out looking like the next storm clouds hovering over WWE. âš¡
