Blurred Vision: Nobody Sees the Whole Picture on WWE Raw

08/18/2026

WWE Raw continues to create more questions than answers, and maybe that is exactly the point.

The Judgment Day is stumbling around. Lyra Valkyria appears consumed by her own frustrations. Bron Breakker thinks he understands his place in WWE until Paul Heyman makes another move. Jacob Fatu is quietly watching Roman Reigns elevate The Usos. And Roman may have underestimated the situation involving Solo Sikoa and LA Knight.

Everyone has a vision of where they are going.

The problem is that very few of them can see the entire picture.

How Can We Take Judgment Day Seriously?

The Judgment Day looked clumsy again.

How are we supposed to take this group seriously when Stephanie Vaquer can seemingly handle several members by herself?

Raquel Rodriguez might be the most awkward-moving superstar in the group right now. Roxanne Perez, meanwhile, has the opposite problem. She dives into situations without hesitation, sometimes putting herself at an immediate disadvantage.

But there is another question surrounding Roxanne:

How long will she remain in this picture?

Look over at SmackDown, where Fatal Influence has championship gold. Judgment Day currently has only two championships within the group, and Roxanne doesn't have one.

Where exactly is this leading her?

Meanwhile, Stephanie Vaquer and Becky Lynch share a common objective: take the championship away from Liv Morgan.

They don't necessarily need to like each other. They just need to realize that working together could benefit both of them.

Then add Sol Ruca.

Ruca should be moving directly toward the Intercontinental Championship picture after defeating Lyra Valkyria. Put Sol alongside Becky and Stephanie, and suddenly WWE has an interesting three-on-three situation against Judgment Day.

That could create several different championship stories at once.

Lyra Valkyria Is Falling Behind

What is happening to Lyra Valkyria?

Her increasingly unhinged persona is becoming a distraction from what should be her main objective: getting herself back into championship contention.

Instead, she looks exhausted, frustrated and obsessed.

Her loss to Sol Ruca should be the defining moment.

While Lyra continues falling backward, Sol continues climbing.

That's why I believe Sol Ruca's victory should put her directly into an Intercontinental Championship match against Raquel Rodriguez.

Lyra needs to figure herself out.

Sol needs a championship opportunity.

Who Is Going to Step Up to Big Cass?

Je'Von Evans wanted revenge.

Big Cass attacked him and told Evans not to take it personally.

There was only one problem.

Evans took it personally.

He called Cass out, and after Evans defeated JD McDonagh, Cass attacked him again.

This feels like one of the most obvious near-term matches WWE is building toward. Je'Von Evans vs. Big Cass gives WWE the classic contrast of explosive athleticism against overwhelming size.

But here's my bigger question:

If it isn't Je'Von Evans, who else is going to step up to Big Cass?

Cass is being positioned as a problem that somebody eventually has to solve.

Evans may be crazy enough to try.

Give Me Penta vs. Rey Fenix

The semifinals of the No. 1 contender's tournament are loaded:

Penta vs. La Parka.

Rey Fenix vs. Dragon Lee.

These four aren't strangers to one another. There is familiarity, history and experience throughout these matchups, which makes predicting the tournament difficult.

But there's one potential final that jumps off the page:

Penta vs. Rey Fenix.

Brother against brother.

We've seen their chemistry before, and putting a future opportunity against Roman Reigns on the line would give that matchup even greater meaning.

However, I'm not dismissing Dragon Lee.

He could easily disrupt the entire prediction.

Still, I'm sticking with Penta to win the tournament and challenge Roman Reigns in Mexico.

That atmosphere alone could make the match feel enormous.

Jey Uso Better Watch What He Says

Jey Uso got his victory over Solo Sikoa, and afterward he had something to say to Jacob Fatu:

"Who's a punk bitch now?"

Careful, Jey.

Your game plan worked against Solo, but let's remember something important.

You didn't do it alone.

Jimmy Uso assisted his brother.

Maybe that doesn't matter to Roman Reigns. Roman's philosophy has often centered around delivering results, and from his perspective, The Usos delivered.

Then Roman finally addressed Solo.

It had been years since Roman defeated Solo around WWE's Netflix debut, and Roman wanted to understand why Solo wasn't standing beside him.

But while Roman was focused on Solo, something else was happening right in front of him.

Jacob Fatu was watching.

The Bloodline Has Captains, But What About Jacob Fatu?

Roman Reigns named Jimmy and Jey Uso the captains of The Bloodline.

Watch Jacob Fatu's reaction.

His face said plenty without him needing a microphone.

Roman acknowledged that Jacob is family, but is acknowledgment enough?

What has Roman actually given Jacob?

The Usos get leadership positions. Roman remains at the top. Jacob Fatu is told to stand down.

And that's exactly what he did.

When everything exploded with Solo Sikoa and LA Knight, Jacob followed Roman's orders.

He stayed down.

I believe Jacob could have cleared the ring himself. But maybe staying out wasn't about fear or obedience.

Maybe Jacob wanted Roman to experience the consequences of telling him to stand down.

That's a much more interesting possibility.

Jacob Fatu doesn't necessarily need to betray Roman tomorrow.

He can simply stop saving him.

Solo Sikoa Changes Everything

Then the entire situation flipped.

LA Knight became involved.

Solo attacked Roman Reigns.

Knight recovered and joined the assault.

And by the end of the chaos, LA Knight delivered his signature move to Roman and left the World Heavyweight Champion down.

At this point, WWE shouldn't overcomplicate this:

Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight should be a lock.

But Solo's involvement makes the story bigger than one championship match.

Roman now has enemies in front of him and uncertainty behind him.

And somewhere in the middle stands Jacob Fatu.

Who Is the Future of WWE?

That brings us to perhaps the biggest question coming out of Raw:

Who is the future of WWE?

Bron Breakker wants the answer to be Bron Breakker.

Oba Femi might have something to say about that.

Breakker wanted to handle the situation immediately, but Paul Heyman intervened and essentially told Bron that he was approaching everything incorrectly.

Heyman explained the business side.

WWE answers to shareholders. Business matters. Box office matters. Main events matter. Everything has to happen at the right time.

Heyman wasn't necessarily telling Bron not to fight Oba.

He was teaching Bron how the machine works.

And Heyman succeeded.

Bron Breakker will face Oba Femi at Sunday's Main Event on September 6.

Breakker got what he wanted.

So why didn't he look happy at the end?

Because Paul Heyman shook Oba Femi's hand.

Never Ignore Paul Heyman

This is where my attention immediately shifts.

Why is Paul Heyman involved?

History tells us not to ignore anything Heyman does.

Roman Reigns.

CM Punk.

Seth Rollins.

And, of course, the man Heyman has repeatedly demonstrated tremendous loyalty toward throughout his career: Brock Lesnar.

Paul Heyman doesn't simply stand around wrestling storylines.

There is usually another layer.

So when Heyman shakes Oba Femi's hand while Bron Breakker watches, I'm paying attention.

Could there be something developing between Paul Heyman and Oba Femi?

That's the spark I'm watching.

Breakker's expression changed immediately. He looked confused. Maybe even betrayed.

And that's the most fascinating part.

Bron Breakker believes he's ready to become the future of WWE, but he doesn't completely understand what is happening around him.

His vision isn't clear.

Neither is his faction's.

And that brings us right back to the theme of this Raw.

Final Thoughts: Blurred Vision

Judgment Day can't see its own weaknesses.

Lyra Valkyria can't see that her obsession is pushing her farther away from championship contention.

Bron Breakker can't see what Paul Heyman may be planning.

Roman Reigns may not see the resentment potentially growing inside Jacob Fatu.

And everyone chasing Roman's championship sees themselves as the person who can finally knock him off the throne.

That's what made this episode interesting.

The biggest threats aren't necessarily the people standing directly across the ring.

Sometimes they're standing beside you.

Roman Reigns should be watching Jacob Fatu.

Bron Breakker should be watching Paul Heyman.

Judgment Day should be watching itself.

Because on this episode of Raw, everybody had a vision.

Very few could see clearly.
